L'International Resident Affiliate Program del Technology Transfer Office (TTO) della Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) fornisce alle organizzazioni che aderiscono al programma la possibilitŕ di reclutare i propri migliori talenti e di farli lavorare con un gruppo di professionisti estremamente qualificato, combinando le proprie conoscenze tecniche e di business al fine di migliorare le pratiche di trasferimento tecnologico.

L’obiettivo del Programma č quello di una full immersion dei partecipanti (Resident Affiliate) nell’apprendimento di metodi e strumenti che permettano di acquisire competenze, capacitŕ, e network nel campo delle piů attuali pratiche di trasferimento tecnologico. Sostanzialmente, i benefici del tempo investito nell’ International Resident Affiliate Program si avranno per molti anni a venire.

Le organizzazioni aderenti partecipano assegnando un membro qualificato del loro personale tecnico o amministrativo a lavorare con lo staff del TTO della CWRU in specifici settori tecnologici. Il candidato ideale dovrebbe avere, al momento attuale o in un futuro prossimo, responsabilitŕ nel settore del trasferimento tecnologico presso la propria organizzazione.

I partecipanti hanno la possibilitŕ di partecipare a riunioni, corsi e seminari gratuitamente o sostenendo costi minimi. Tali corsi sono consigliati per aiutare i candidati ad acquisire nuove competenze per trasferire nuovi metodi e tecnologie all’interno delle proprie organizzazioni.

La partecipazione al Programma non prevede alcun costo. L’ente ospitante non offre alcuna forma di sponsorizzazione economica o di previdenza professionale. Tutte le spese (viaggio, vitto, alloggio,…) sono a carico del candidato e/o della sua organizzazione. I candidati devono seguire i requisiti del proprio Paese per il rilascio del visto per il viaggio internazionale/l’ottenimento dello status di volontario.

Il Programma fornirŕ spazio uso ufficio, attrezzature e accesso alle risorse generali dell'ufficio.

Il TTO della CWRU stabilirŕ insieme all'organizzazione aderente un programma di lavoro, il luogo in cui dovrŕ essere svolto e un calendario del programma per la permanenza presso la sede della CWRU.

Benefici per l’organizzazione aderente al programma

• Apprendimento di metodi e acquisizione di strumenti di lavoro del TTO della CWRU che potranno essere trasferiti presso l’organizzazione aderente.
• Implementazione dei piů attuali standard e prassi del TTO del CWRU presso le organizzazioni aderenti al programma.
• Creazione di contatti tra le organizzazioni aderenti al programma e i network finanziari e di business negli Stati Uniti.
• Partecipazione al processo di valorizzazione e commercializzazione delle tecnologie da trasferire all'industria.
• Riconoscimento pubblico da parte della CWRU dell’ impegno dell'organizzazione aderente nel settore del trasferimento tecnologico.

Current Resident Affiliates


Fabien Lieval

Resident Affiliate, France
 

Fabien is the technology transfer manager of the Rouen University Hospital, France. He joined the Rouen UH to create its technology transfer office with the mission to facilitate innovation, support spin-off companies, license technology, and establish strategic collaborations between academia and corporate partners. He is an active member of two tech transfer support networks: the Réseau Curie; and the Hôpital Tech Transfer (HTT) network - aimed at promoting technology transfer coming from French university hospitals.

Prior to joining the Rouen University Hospital, Fabien worked as a high-tech financial analyst for OSEO, a French National Public Institution supporting the innovation and growth of SMEs. His work consisted of evaluating business plans and financing innovative projects from SMEs and public laboratories. He has also worked as a high-tech marketing project manager for a technological and business intelligence agency where he realized business intelligence studies and established high-tech market opportunities for SMEs.

Fabien holds an Electrical Engineering Degree from the National Superior Engineering School of Caen, France. His scientific background is mainly focused on semiconductor physics and instrumentation. He also holds a Specilized Master in business management and finance from ESCP Europe, France.

Fabien is the Technology Transfer Office's fourth Resident Affiliate.



Massimo Paturzo

Resident Affiliate, Italy
 

Massimo is currently working at the Case Western Reserve University Technology Transfer Office as a Resident Affiliate and will be working from October 2009 through December 2009. He is a Technology Transfer Manager at the Liaison Office of the University of Calabria, Cosenza, Italy, where he works as a patent specialist. There he contributes to the effort of turning intellectual property into value, while supporting the researchers in several actions aimed at defending intellectual Property, generating innovative enterprises from the University, and creating relationship between enterprises and the territory. He is also specifically involved in the creation of the University incubator.

Massimo has a Master’s Degree in Management High-Tech Entrepreneurship. Prior to joining the Liaison Office, he worked at the LIDL Building Services S.r.l where he took care of development actions, negotiation, implementation of contracts and interaction with suppliers.

Massimo is the Technology Transfer Office's fifth Resident Affiliate.



Past Resident Affiliates


Maddalena Furlan

Former Resident Affiliate, Italy
 

Maddalena worked at the Case Western Reserve University Technology Transfer Office as a Resident Affiliate from February 2009 through May 2009. She is a Technology Transfer Manager at AREA Science Park, Trieste, Italy.

AREA Science Park is an Italian public research institution and the largest science park in Italy. Maddalena works in the Technology Transfer Service, whose activities are mainly aimed at fostering relations between academia and business, supporting the creation of new enterprises and promoting local SMEs' competitiveness. She works in a unit managing a regional system devoted to supporting technology transfer activities of local universities and R&D public institutions.

Maddalena has a degree in Economics from the University of Trieste. Prior to joining AREA Science Park, she worked as part of the Research Staff at the Department of Economics and Statistics of the University of Trieste.

Maddalena was the Technology Transfer Office's third Resident Affiliate.




Tamás Csörgő

Former Resident Affiliate, Hungary
 

Tamás worked at the Case Western Reserve University Technology Transfer Office as a Resident Affiliate from October 2008 thru January 2009. He is Scientific Advisor and member of the Scientific Council at the KFKI Research Institute for Particle and Nuclear Physics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Tamás is also the Principal Investigator of the Hungarian team in the PHENIX Experiment at RHIC, Brookhaven National Laboratory, NY and the Principal Investigator of the Hungarian team in the TOTEM Experiment at LHC, CERN. Tamás has previously been a guest researcher or guest professor at a number of leading research and educational centers including Columbia University in New York, the University of Lund, Sweden, the University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands, Sao Paulo State University and the University of Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo, Brazil, and the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Tamás has a Ph.D. in Physics and holds the title "Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences." He has completed the Science Communication and Research Management training course of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

Tamás was the Technology Transfer Office's second Resident Affiliate.

Andrea Frosini

Former Resident Affiliate, Italy
 

Andrea worked at the CWRU Technology Transfer Office as a Resident Affiliate from May thru July 2008. He’s a technology transfer manager from the Liaison Office at the University of Siena, Italy, where he works as biomedical analyst and patent specialist. Prior to joining the University of Siena, Andrea worked as a development engineer for ST Microelectronics in the field of integrated devices for sample genotyping.

Andrea holds a M.S. in pharmaceutical chemistry from the University of Florence and a PhD in molecular medicine from the University of Milan. His scientific background is mainly focused on molecular biology and bioinformatics.

Andrea was the Technology Transfer Office's first Resident Affiliate.
